About Me
First and foremost, I am a wife and mom of a 23-year-old daughter who was born and raised in West Hartford. I have worked for the West Hartford school system for 24 years as a middle school counselor and currently work at King Philip Middle school as the intervention school counselor which means I work with all 3 grades. During my work at the middle school level, I have had the pleasure of working with 100’s of children and parents. Prior to this position I worked for 11 years for The Bridge Family Center in West Hartford as the Youth and Family Service Coordinator and also had the luxury of working with 100’s of children in a counseling capacity.
Over the last 30 years I earned a Masters in Counseling from St. Joseph University, a Certification of Developmental Guidance from CCSU, earned my License as a Professional Counselor or LPC from CCSU and recently became a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
My ongoing education includes attending day or weeklong conferences and taking courses online. I have completed three Mindful Schools courses, attended Kripalu for ‘The Healing Power of Breath’ weekend workshop and Omega Institute for two Mindfulness in Education weeklong courses. I traveled to Colorado for a week attending the ‘Parenting with Love and Logic’ course and presented at three Annual Mindfulness Conferences on Mindful Parenting.
My joys in life are my husband, a beautiful daughter and a playful Springer Spaniel, practicing heartfulness and mindfulness, studying child development and the current neuroscience research, gardening, riding my bike and traveling whenever possible. My passion for parenting is what fills my bucket and I look forward to meeting and working with as many parents as possible. I know I can make a difference in your life and you will love being a mom or dad.
